My Skin in 2021

My skin like the rest of my body has been a constant work in progress. I have chronic issues with acne, excess oil production and large pores. These combined skin conditions lead to what bothers me most about my skin: acne scars/hyperpigmentation. (The hairs on my face are an entirely separate issue.)

I’ve tried many a product to try and keep the oil and acne at bay with the hope that it will also help my scars. I have been met with little to no success over the years.

However, this year I decided to try and black owned product “Faded” from the company Topicals that prides itself on recognizing that millions of people have acne, it’s normal, affects mental health and people would like it to be treated along with the scars from it physical and otherwise.

It’s difficult for me to tell but looking at the photos, overall my skin appears clearer in the upper pics and smoother. My face is oily in both because I face produces oil every few hours no matter my PPE or sitting in a cold house.

I’ve been using the Faded most consistently along with my Inkey List Salicylic acid cleanser, Niacinamide toner from Good Molecules and the Hyper Skin serum in the morning. The toner and cleanser I use am and pm. The Faded is only at night and in the morning I apply spf after my moisturizer.

I think as far as serums go, I’ve hit a good balance and I’m going to alternate between the Inkey List apple vinegar face peel, the Inkey List Kaolin clay mask and the Peach and Lilly Super Reboot Resurfacing mask for exfoliation.

I feel good overall about my skin, finally.
